Tri-athletes
The bike leg of a triathlon is often the one which has the
longest duration, so for many tri-athletes focusing on optimising
the bike leg will yield the greatest overall improvement. This
is why a specialist cycling coach can help many tri-athletes
to make big gains.
Firstly, riding position on a bike is critical to performance
and often many minutes can be saved by improving a rider’s
position. Simply clipping on aero-bars is fine for beginners
but there is a great deal more to an efficient cycling position
than that.
Training should be very specific, too. Just going out for
rides is not necessarily optimal training. No tri-athlete has
time to waste on inefficient training, so every session on
the bike must be planned for optimum duration and intensity,
and fitted carefully into the overall training schedule. An
experienced cycling coach can advise and guide you and make
a real difference to your cycling-leg performance. |
